Breakdown Of The Salvation Prayer

Breakdown Of The Salvation Prayer

How many times have you said the Salvation Prayer and not understand what you said

We the people forget so, and we the people need to be reminded so. That is why messages of salvation are repeated so much in the church. Don’t ever take that lightly; the alter calls are imperative as today is the day of salvation for anyone. Everyone is at a different stage of learning about God in this life. Don’t really understand it all yet… Listen to these verses.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16,17 KJV

Did you see that “might be saved”…Saved from what, from eternal damnation in hell, that’s what. People have an opportunity to make a choice, to be saved. Have you done that today, or maybe you need to renew your commitment.

First, take a hard look and see where you are at:

  • Have you checked yourself lately to see if you are growing in faith or growing in fear.
  • Are you still willing to spend time in the Word of God daily, talking and listening to Him.
  • How is your enthusiasm for the things of God. Is the world pulling you away.
  • Are you living with determination or fading in your vast imagination.
  • Did you forget your Christian brothers and sisters or did you go back to your old ways.

Second, here is what I use anywhere to lead people to the Lord Jesus to get saved, which can also be found online. Read it with me and restore and renew your life right now…

Has anyone ever told you that God loves you and that He has a wonderful plan for your life? I have a real quick, but important question to ask you. If you were to die this very second, do you know for sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you would go to Heaven? [If “Yes”—Great, why would you say “Yes”? (If they respond with anything but “I have Jesus in my heart” or something similar to that, PROCEED WITH SCRIPT) or “No” or “I hope so” PROCEED WITH SCRIPT.]

Let me quickly share with you what the Holy Bible reads. It reads “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” and “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. The Bible also reads , “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. And you’re a “whosoever” right? Of course you are, all of us are.

I’m going to say a quick prayer for you. Lord, bless (FILL IN NAME) and his/her family with long and healthy lives. Jesus, make Yourself real to him/her and do a quick work in his/her heart. If (FILL IN NAME) has not received Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior, I pray he/she will do so now.

(FILL IN NAME), if you would like to receive the gift that God has for you today, say this after me with your heart and lips out loud. Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Forgive me for my sin. Wash me and cleanse me. Set me free. Jesus, thank You that You died for me. I believe that you are risen from the dead and that You’re coming back again for me. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Give me a passion for the lost, a hunger for the things of God and a holy boldness to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m saved. I’m born again. I’m forgiven and I’m on my way to Heaven because I have Jesus in my heart.

As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I tell you today that all of your sins are forgiven. Always remember to run to God and not from God because He loves you and has a great plan for your life.

Third, then I usually tell them a few things:

  • Do they have a Bible. Most people have a Bible or maybe you could give them one.
  • Read the Word of God every day even if it is just a little. The Book of John is a good place to start.
  • Talk to Jesus every day, He is their best friend and will never leave them or forsake them.
  • Find a church that teaches Jesus and the truth that they can attend and get involved, meet Christians.
  • Tell someone today what happened to them, that they got saved.

Fourth, now to go over the scriptures in full. It is called the Roman’s Road – Plan of Salvation:

1)Realize you are a sinner. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 KJV

2)Know the penalty. For the wages of sin is death…Romans 6:23a KJV

3)Understand that Jesus took your penalty. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 KJV

4)God offers you eternal life. …but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23b KJV

5)You must ask for this gift. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 KJV

Fifth, the important things to remember about Jesus are:

His Father is God

His miraculous conception and birth

His name

His life

His ministry

His death on the cross

His blood shed for us

His burial

His resurrection

His power for us from the Holy Spirit

His intercession for us

His preparation for us

His return for us

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:27, 28 KJV

You are now in the family of God! It will be the best decision you ever made in your life!
