Peace In The Stream

Peace In The Stream

Can you see attributes of God through nature? After all He created everything, I am so thankful that He made laws of science. What type of world would this be if gravity only took effect 50% of the time? Where would we be if we couldn’t control our environment? Every fire you start to cook with couldn’t be controlled and burned down your house every time. God made order, an ocean can go this far, and no further. Even Dr. Szeuss had gravity in his books…

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Rom 1:20

A stream for example is beautiful the way the water flows between the rocks, gliding effortlessly in the path of least resistance. Making the marvelous sound, screaming God is Lord! Laying its foot print in the soft sand telling everyone that “this is what it looks like when you follow God’s plan!” But if that stream ever comes in contact with a deep section.

It will become stagnate filth, unhealthy to drink and a breeding ground for bacteria. In many ways we are like a stream, when we are following Jesus, we are beautiful. If we stop for whatever reason, pride, sin, distractions, we begin to stop stirring around, we become weak. Bad “habits” form as the bacteria multiples, we become unhealthy for the people around us.

With God’s grace and strength we can conqueror the walls that keep us trapped in the pool we have formed. We can start on the path to recovery, slowly getting more and more beautiful as we shed off the bacteria we let into our lives. The first step, the hardest climb over our walls that the enemy has told us is too high, is confession.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

I suggest you confess your sins to a TRUSTED brother or sister in Christ, because there is something different when you are face to face with someone and you spill your secrets. Then talk about ways of dealing with the ________ (fill in the blank) in your life. Finally, most of all, pray for God to intervene in your life.
