What Is Prayer

In short, Prayer is direct communication with God.

Much has been written about Prayer and I do not want you to think I know everything, but you can learn to pray and and ask God for help in your life. Simply, you have to really want to do that, to form a relationship with the Lord. God is able, faithful, and He will lead you on happily for that precious time together because John 3:16,17 says…

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

  1. What is Prayer

Prayer is talking to God. Prayer is a form of meditation that brings us closer to our creator.  He is our friend and as we pray, we should treat it like a regular conversation; believing and trusting that He will give us the answer in His time. Faith in God works. Jesus died so he could be the intercessor for us…so when you pray, start out with Father God and end with in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

  2. When to Pray

Anytime is the right time to pray. A good habit is to pray and have your devotional time, first thing in the morning.  This will get your day going the right way. However, some people prefer their prayer and Bible time at night. The bible says to pray without ceasing, so keep that in mind, too.  Nothing is too small to talk to God about.

  3. Where to Pray

Anywhere is the right place to pray, but sometimes you may need a more quiet or secluded prayer area where you can go each day by yourself in order for you to spend great fellowship time with God. A place where you can tune out all the distractions of the world.  Great things have happened to those who earnestly seek God with no reservations.

  4. Why Pray

We pray because our lives depend on it. Prayer is a form of worship.  We cannot make it thru a day without Him and too many days without prayer makes us so weak that we open ourselves up to the works of the devil. Prayer bring us closer to God.

  5. How to Pray

Jesus gives us an excellent example of a complete prayer in Matthew 3:6-9, known as the Lord’s Prayer.  Music is a great way to start your prayer time or just being quiet, listening to His direction and enjoying His peace through meditation of His love and presence.

I’d like to end this brief discussion on Prayer by encouraging you to reach deeper in your relationship with the Lord. He wants so much to be in your everyday life and to be close, loving you like no one else. May our Lord give you great wisdom and revelation knowledge as you seek Him in prayer. God bless you.
